Troubleshooting Guide
Please review the following troubleshooting recommendations before submitting a ticket or booking a call with our Customer Advocacy Team for a Yext data-related issue. If your issue persists after reviewing, then feel free to reach out.
Possible Outcomes
You are getting a “No Data Was Returned” for the last month or two:
When we fetch data, we make a call to GET https://api.yextapis.com/v2/accounts/{accountId}/analytics/maxdates. This fetches the completed date for Listings and Bing metrics, or the date when all the data has been resolved. If the response for these dates is before the data you requested, then the data is unreliable due to data lag (see data lag table below).
Additionally, you can log into your Yext account to view Yext API docs here as well as see your max date information within your Yext Dashboard.
Also, any publisher-specific delays from YEXT are also added to the publisher status board , so you can view which publishers are experiencing additional delays to a particular completed date.
The data lag posted by Yext is as follows:
Completed Date Type |
Expected Delay Range (Days) |
---|---|
ACTIVITY_LOG, ANSWERS, CONVERSION_TRACKING, PAGES, REVIEWS, EVENTS |
1 |
Apple |
6-14 |
Bing |
14-28 |
Extended Listings Network |
2-3 |
|
4-14 |
Google Business Profile |
7-14 |
Google Search Console |
3-14 |
Google Search Keywords |
30-35* |
TripAdvisor |
3-14 |
*Disclaimer from Yext: Google Search Keywords data is aggregated monthly, meaning that Google does not return data for a given month until that month has ended. So a delay won’t begin until the start of a new month. The expected delay is by the fifth day of the new month.
Recommended Actions
-
Verify Data Lag: Check if the lag is within the acceptable range posted by Yext.
-
Check Complete Dates: Ensure that the Complete Dates within the Yext dashboard match the
standardMaxDate
andbingMaxDate
fields. -
Escalation: If the Complete Dates do not match up, recommend that the customer escalate the issue to their Yext representative.
Conclusion
Due to the data lag from Yext, it is likely that the data for the last month or two has not yet been fully processed and made available. Verify the data lag details and complete dates to confirm this, and escalate to Yext support if necessary.
