Lost Provider Connection Email
Lost Provider Connection Email
This feature is currently considered in beta and only enabled for a small, select group of NinjaCat users at first. If you are interested in this feature, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager to let them know.
When a user grants NinjaCat access to their provider, such as Google Ads, Facebook, etc, they are typically granting us access to a long list of accounts within that over-arching network. The provider connections can be broken for different reasons that have nothing to do with NinjaCat. This alert sends an email notification when NinjaCat detects that either a Network connection or any of the Accounts managed by a Network are broken.
- Alert - A daily email to a specified recipient list every day the broken connection persists.
- Detail - The email has an attached CSV (Comma Separated Value) file containing a list of the broken connections.
- Support Scope - Initially the feature will only support Facebook Ads and Google Ads connections.
- Root Causes - Connections to data providers can be broken due to a few reasons:
- For Networks -
- The credentials used to access a data provider manager account may have been changed or updated
- An access token for a data provider manager account may have expired or been otherwise invalidated
- For Accounts -
- The permissions or access for a single property or client account may have changed or moved from the expected manager account.

- Solutions
- For Networks -
- Check within the provider (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc) to ensure that the set of credentials you wish to connect with has the appropriate permissions to share.
- Admin level or Manage level permission is typically required in order to share your data with NinjaCat
- In NinjaCat, select the invalid network. Under More Actions, select Revoke Token. Once confirmed, select Create Token under More Actions. If successfully repaired and that set of credentials still has permissions to any accounts that were previously connected with them, then the account-level connections will be repaired as well.
- For Accounts -
- Check within the provider (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, etc) to ensure that the used credentials at the network level still have permission to that specific account. If not, this needs to be adjusted within the provider.
- Once adjusted, that account should become available to be selected within the Account Dropdown for that Advertiser Network in NinjaCat (within the Account Command Center)
- If you don't see the account available in the dropdown within an hour, you may need to go to the network level to revoke and recreate the token. Be sure that you're using the same set of credentials or credentials that have access to the same account list to make sure your account-level connections remain intact within NinjaCat.
