Troubleshooting login issues, loading issues, or unable to access some pages in NinjaCat

Some users have reported that in using some features of their web browser, they are encountering difficulties in performing some tasks in our platform, such as:

  • Unable to delete an account or advertiser
  • Issues with loading the templates tab, the reports tab or client-facing dashboards
  • Unable to log in to client dashboards: user logs in but then gets immediately pushed back to the login screen.
  • Some areas of the platform are continuously loading 
  • Clicking on "add data source" gives the message "Error Loading Data Sources"

3rd party cookies:

Some areas of our legacy NinjaCat system reside on a different legacy domain name that some browsers and ad blockers mistake for a potential threat.  We recommend turning off all third-party cookie blockers in order to fully access all aspects of the platform.

Turning off 3rd party cookies in Chrome:

Click on the three dots in the top-right corner, then select the “Settings” option:

Under the Settings menu, scroll down and click on “show advanced settings” at the bottom:

Under the “Privacy” section, click on “Content Settings”:

Ensure that “Block all 3rd party cookies and site data” is not checked, then click “Done”.

Ad blockers

Some ad blocker extensions in some browsers also block 3rd party cookies or interfere with the functioning of some of our services.  If you experience any issues in the platform with a non-specific error message or errors in being able to load pages correctly, try disabling any ad blockers and try the action again.

 

How to disable ad-blocker extensions in Chrome

Click on the three dots in the top-right corner, then select “settings”:

Click on “Extensions” from the top-left corner:

Review the extensions carefully for Ad blockers or other extensions that might interfere with the function of 3rd party cookies or website scripts.  Some extensions that we have identified that may cause issues include:

  • Adblock
  • AdBlock Plus
  • uBlock
  • Ghostery
  • NoScript
  • ScriptSafe
  • PrivacyBadger
  • Last Pass
  • Others not mentioned*

To test if your extension is causing issues in NinjaCat, un-check the “enabled” button for your extension and try the same task in our platform again.  If you are able to perform the action where previously you were not, then your extension was the culprit!
